SCHOOL RESIDENCY PROGRAM
A Customized Experiential Educational Model
IMOD chooses to create a customized curriculum rather than impose a pre-packaged curriculum on schools. Instead, IMOD works in partnership with administrators, arts coordinators, and classroom teachers to design programming that:
• Aligns with district scheduling structures
• Integrates into existing PE, arts, or humanities blocks
• Meets measurable educational outcomes
• Reflects the cultural makeup of the school community
• Supports grade-specific developmental benchmarks
IMOD’s Global Education Program’s School Residency offerings include, Assembly, Gym/Class Takeover, Masterclass, Professional Development, and Workshop are adaptable to meet the logistical and academic needs of each school site.

Learning Outcomes
Students will:
• Apply correct terminology when identifying movement
• Articulate Hip-Hop’s African and Latin diasporic roots
• Demonstrate spatial awareness and ensemble coordination
• Differentiate between Up Groove and Down Groove dynamics
• Engage respectfully in solo, partner, and group structures
• Execute foundational Hip-Hop vocabulary with rhythmic accuracy
Instructional Framework
Each session follows a structured progression:
1. Somatic Warm-Up & Isolation Training
Developing mind–muscle connection, coordination, and rhythmic awareness.
2. Dynamic Stretch & Conditioning
Preparing the body for grounded, rhythmic movement.
3. Traveling Progressions (Across-the-Floor)
Building spatial awareness and repetition mastery.
4. Technique & Vocabulary Study
Learning foundational grooves and their cultural origins.
5. Social & Community Dance Forms
Understanding collective movement traditions.
